One of Miami's landmark stores will be moving to the Design District in November 2008. Tomas Maier will re-locate his iconic Miami Beach store to a new 6,000 square foot space.
The building, a former pineapple plantation homestead is free-standing and historic in nature. The space captures much of the same mood as his former location with wood plank ceilings and white washed walls. There is also a small garden to the rear.
The larger store will give Tomas Maier the opportunity to increase his own product range but will be consistent in it's curatorial approach to retail.
The second level will feature a 1,000 square foot gallery.
Tomas Maier says that he is ready for a new adventure in Miami and to explore this new neighborhood which he feels is an interesting location at the crossroads to downtown, the renewed Biscayne Boulevard corridor and Miami Beach.
In the future, Tomas Maier will plan to open a smaller space on Miami Beach.
